Start your free trial

You can sign up for nebty without talking to us first. You create an account, set up your brand, add a payment method, and monitoring starts. The first 14 days are free. This guide shows each step, from the sign-up form to your first results.

Open dash.nebty.de/register to begin. You can also select Start your free trial on the login page.

  • Use your work email address. Use an address on your brand’s own domain, for example [email protected] for the website acme.com. Disposable email addresses are not accepted. You see the message “Please use your work email.” An address from a free provider, such as Gmail, works, but see Good to know.
  • Know who can sign for the company. The setup asks for the legal name and address of your company and for the person who may authorize nebty to act for it.
  • Have a payment method ready. You need a card or a SEPA direct debit mandate. The payment method is required, even though nothing is charged during the trial.
  1. Register. On the page Start your free trial, enter your Work email, choose your Currency (Euro, US dollar or Canadian dollar), and complete the Cloudflare Turnstile check. Then select Start free trial. The currency is the currency of your subscription. You see the prices before you pay. By continuing, you agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy that the page links to.

  2. Open the link in your email. The page now shows Check your inbox. We send an email with the subject “Continue your nebty signup” to your address. Select Continue signup in it. This confirms that the address is yours. The email states until when the link works. If nothing arrives after a few minutes, look in your spam folder. If you typed the address wrongly, select Use a different email. nebty emails are in English at the moment.

  3. Confirm your business details. The link opens a short setup with three steps. Step 1 is Your business. Fill in:

    • Email: This is the address that received the link. You cannot change it.
    • Your official website: nebty uses it to find impersonators. If your brand has no website, select I don’t have a website. nebty then monitors by brand name instead.
    • Brand name: The name your customers know, without the legal form. Write “Acme”, not “Acme Design Inc.”
    • Legal name of company or rights holder, Registered address and Country of registration: These details appear on the authorization documents.
    • Authorized person and Role or position: The person who may authorize this agreement for the company.
  4. Choose your plan. Step 2 is Your plan. Under Billing plan, choose Monthly or Annual. The page shows the price of each plan in the currency you chose in step 1. These are net prices, so VAT is not included. A note on the page confirms that the first 14 days are free, that a payment method is required, and that you are charged when the trial ends. You can cancel before then. Each company gets one trial. If the note is missing, your company already had a trial, and the first payment is taken at once. For current prices, see the nebty pricing page.

  5. Review and accept. Step 3 is Review and start. Check your details. Then give two separate consents. Each one has a link to the document, so you can read it first:

    • The platform terms. They include the data processing agreement (DPA).
    • The power of attorney. It allows nebty to act against impersonations of your brand.

You must give both consents to continue. Complete the Quick security check, then select Start monitoring.

  6. Pay on the Stripe page. nebty sends you to Stripe, our payment provider. Enter a card or a SEPA direct debit. Stripe shows the payment methods that are available for your subscription. Stripe asks for your billing address. If you buy as a business, you can enter your VAT ID there. Stripe calculates the VAT from your address and VAT ID. With a trial, you are not charged now. Stripe takes the first payment when the 14 days end. If you leave the Stripe page without paying, nothing is charged and nothing starts. You return to the setup with the notice You cancelled the payment. Pick your plan and try again.

  7. You are signed in automatically. After the payment page, nebty shows Confirming your signup…, then Signing you in…. This takes a few seconds, so keep the page open. You land on your brand in the nebty app. If the automatic sign-in does not work, the page shows You’re all set with the note to check your email. Select Request a login link, or use the link in the welcome email. Its subject reads “Monitoring for [your brand] has started”.

Monitoring starts right after the payment page, and the first scan starts at once. It usually takes about an hour. You do not need to wait on the page.

Open your brand and select Overview in the sidebar. At the top you find the first-scan card. It shows three stages: Generate name variations, Find and scan domains and Visual check. Next to it you see a time estimate, for example About 45 minutes left, and four counters: Variations, Domains found, High risk and Visually checked.

The card has these states:

Card title What it means
Scan running The scan is in progress. Results appear on this card.
Scan complete — visual check continues The scan is done. The visual check continues in the background.
Scan finished with gaps Some checks could not run. Monitoring continues and fills in results over hours.
Scan taking longer than usual The scan is slow. Results appear as soon as they are ready.
Scan complete The first scan is done.

When the scan has finished, the card links to View domains and, if there are high-risk domains, to View high-risk domains. A finished card shows for 24 hours. You can close it earlier with the X. When the first scan and its visual check are done, nebty also sends you an email. Its subject reads “Your first nebty results for [your brand]”.

While your trial runs, the brand header shows the label Trial until and the date next to the plan badge.

To read a finding, see Review your first finding.

Below the first-scan card, the Finish setting up card lists four steps. Select a step to open the right page. A step is checked off when you do it. Use the X on a step to hide it. The card disappears when all steps are done.

Step Where it takes you What to do
Review your keywords The Brand Settings tab Check that the names and terms nebty monitors match your brand.
Add trusted domains The Brand Settings tab Mark your own domains and partners so nebty does not flag them.
Invite your team The Members tab. Only brand admins can do this. Give colleagues access. See Add a team member.
Set your alert preferences Settings Turn alerts for this brand on or off. See Settings.

nebty sends alerts by email to your account address. In Settings, each brand under Associated Brands has three switches: Alerts for new results, Takedown alerts and Monthly summary. Check them once so that the right people get the right emails. See Settings for details.

To understand what an alert means and what to do next, see Respond to a high-risk alert.

  • Email domain and power of attorney. If your email address is not on the same domain as your brand’s website (for example, a Gmail address), you can still start and pay. nebty then checks the power of attorney by hand before it uses it for takedowns.
  • Takedowns. A takedown request from a self-service account is not started at once. nebty reviews it and sends you a quote first. See Request a takedown.
  • The email says you already have an account. If you register with an email address that already has an account, the email tells you to log in instead. Use the login page, or ask an admin of your brand to invite you.

For prices, invoices, cancelling, and what happens when a payment fails, see the Billing FAQ. Questions about the setup: write to [email protected].
